Climb to the Summit

September 2017

It's been a while since we last shared updates on this project. Many of you have been following us since the beginning, years ago now. We have been through some name changes and product pivots since then. Getting to know all of you in the community has helped shape these changes, and we are grateful for your engagement and support.

As in any startup, it's hard to get started. In our case, it's difficult to find the time on top of work and/or school studies, the funding to stay afloat, and the dedicated team to keep it running full steam ahead at a consistent pace. The past year has been an uneasy one with many challenges that have set this project back. However, while our online channels have been quiet, we have been working hard behind the scenes determined to deliver a tool to help people living with and at risk for HIV, as well as family and friends impacted, live healthy, normal lives. To live well.

We put together an FAQ to share some quick updates with you, and you can stay in the know by subscribing to our newsletter. We look forward to sharing future developments.

A New Name and Look

September 2017

You may have previously known our product to be called LivPoz or LivWel or at its very early days of simply Medical App Project. Now we have made a slight change to My LivWel. So why the name change?

The new name reflects a more personal ownership for you. This is your resource listing, your stories, your life. Personal accountability helps people make positive steps toward health because only you can be responsible for being receptive and taking action to seek and receive help. We reflect this ownership by adding "My" to the name. Living well is a choice you have to make, and our resources are here to help once that decision to get help is made. Living well can be an uphill climb, but My LivWel can fill your backpack with the tools needed to keep on the strong path and reach the summit.

We are excited to share this new name and look, and we look forward to taking the journey to good health together with you. Like what you see? Share it. Visit our support page to help us share My LivWel. It doesn't take much to help support this project, and we appreciate any bit of help and spreading the word that you can offer.

AIDS Walk Detroit

September 2017

What a moving experience to participate in AIDS Walk Detroit another year. It was a beautiful day for people to gather and walk to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. Viewing the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt is such a powerful reminder of why the walk continues to take place. The event helps raise funds for programs in HIV education, prevention, and services. For more information, please visit, spread the word, and make it out next year if you missed it.

Day One

August 2014

A small idea was shared at the We #MakeHealth Fest 2014 event...a mobile app idea that could help people living with HIV manage the taking of their medications. Surrounded by inspirational innovators and fearless creativity, this event marked the start of a journey that would expand, test, challenge, and make this idea come to life to where it is today.
